This 6 week 2x a week, specialized fitness course for seniors focuses on fall prevention through movements inspired by jiu jitsu. Participants will engage in low-impact exercises that will deepen their connection to the ground they stand on. Unlike traditional yoga classes, there will be plenty of soft mat space to explore, move, and build confidence in your body.

The class will introduce gentle techniques and movements (like rolling, crawling, jumping, hopping, skipping) that promote body awareness and coordination. Through specific jiu jitsu movements, seniors will learn how to safely navigate their own bodies, improving their ability to recover from unexpected shifts in balance. Emphasis of the classes will be placed on falling safely, with instruction on how to minimize injury and manage falls effectively.

Each session will include warm-up exercises, followed by targeted movement drills that reinforce core stability and lower body strength. Participants will have the opportunity to practice rolling and recovering techniques on padded surfaces, ensuring a supportive environment.

You will leave this class feeling confident, coordinated, and strong. You will feel your full dimensionality as a human being!

Below are the details of when and where (TBD)
